The value of coaching...*
Updated: Aug 6, 2019

A coaching relationship is a personal and emotional commitment between you and the coach. It is a precious experience, for both. The coach has a genuine desire to share their knowledge and experience to help you find your way, and you have the ambition to appreciate and take to heart all that is shared. This way a trusting and open environment is created. Being in such an environment can have a transforming effect on itself.
A coach finds fulfilment in your growth and development and is able to tune in to who you are. She will be genuinely happy with steps of insight or achievement. She is honest and straight in comments and guidance. She possesses qualities or has ways of being that serve as an example. Being in her presence is inspiring.
You, as the one that is coached, are prepared to put your full trust in the coach and to be fully honest with yourself. Especially in difficult moments. You let go of usual cautiousness and dare to abandon familiar and trodden paths. You soak up what is presented to you, even it feels strange, new, or uncomfortable and scary. You don't walk away. Explore new ways and you will experience that feeling uncomfortable or scared is not the end of the world.
Being in a coaching relationship requires courage from both people involved. There is no point in hiding or pretending. In that trustful and truthful connection, in that specific situation, is where you learn the most. That is where significant change happens.
